Verizon buys Alltel U.S.: More women using smartphones

The New York Times reported that in 2007 in the United States, number of women using smartphones grew faster than men. Already 10.4 million women who use these devices.

To illustrate better this trend, it is noteworthy that, while in October 2007, only 1 in 4 users of iPhone was a woman, in March 2008 the ratio was 1-3, and it is expected that the IPhone 3G match things further.

The study cited by the U.S. newspaper further noted that before the women were using the phones for work or for safety reasons and now, increasingly, are using it for other tasks of daily life.
