Christmas is coming

Christmas is coming. It seems that every time begins earlier. The style of American cities, ours do not expect to December to decorate the streets of Christmas decorations. So do the companies that take advantage of almost 2 long months of the season to design any type of action. And so will all of our businesses dedicated to wellness and beauty. Give a stay at the spa .... or do you save 25% by year-end or Celebrate your Christmas at our facility. Any of these initiatives is valid. Companies make use of the pull and must be done in these times.

But we must launch and launch initiatives like that? Is winning the competition for best idea to attract customers? Not really. A good Christmas promotion we can generate more customers and more sales. That is one of the desired results. But do not just enough to win customers. Mary is the first coming to our spa, a facility of 400 m2 that my wife and I opened more than 3 years ago with high hopes . We find good girl, but every employee always improve slightly. Mary, who opened the place, is serving the first customers until we got my wife and I along with other employees. Mary is very point, it never fails, but always forgets something (hand towel to the customer without being prompted, for example). We know that the client notices those small but important ways. Sometimes we think is a little late, that these functions should be putting it even as a requirement before hiring her.


Does it sound the status quo? Probably yes, because it can occur in any of our business. Our employees have been recruited for their skills but, however, often lacking in something as important as the right customer care.

After working as a consultant for marketing and sales for several companies, took over 7 years in the field of beauty and wellness. In all these years, I've been watching a sector with many imbalances.

Our country has been modernized in many fields and in particular the beauty and welfare, has been hosting the latest in equipment, facilities and processes. Spas large have come to our cities. But this growth has not kept pace with the formation of human capital. In most cases, the perpetrators and those who serve the customer, have been trained in schools that still teach the traditional way, without much progress. Training has been stuck in the past when the professionals were trained to the required basic treatments in salons and small centers.

With the arrival of the spas and department, trained professionals are needed not only in treatment but also in marketing, sales and customer service.

Since a customer walks through our door until you leave, we must ensure that you get a great experience but fundamentally, we must ensure that the customer is satisfied to repeat his visit.

The market is vast and there is much room but, fundamentally, there is room for everyone with a profitable business, well planned and properly managed.

This blog was created with the intention to review all aspects that we consider necessary to treat on the design, building and managing the business of a beauty, urban or resort spa. Everything that we believe may be of interest to both the employer and spas for managers or employees.
